Happy Year of the Dragon! It starts February 10, 2024.
Wishing you happiness, good health and good fortune in the Year of the Dragon!
I have painted this Dragon Typography, combining an ink brushed dragon head with my grass calligraphy for the Chinese word "dragon" as the body. You will notice that the Chinese word is a pictorial one evolving from oracle script, and you can see roughly the dragon claws at the left, dragon back and tail on the right.
2024 is a year of the Wood Dragon, starting from February 10th, 2024 (Chinese New Year) and ending on January 28th, 2025 (Chinese New Year's Eve). The Chinese calendar is a lunisolar calendar, and the start of the year is based on the cycles of the moon. The Chinese zodiac assigns an animal to each year in a repeating twelve-year cycle.
